Introducing Spirits to The Brooksteed is a new thing and so we are starting small! As our background is in gin that’s what we have decided to go with!
Portobello Road Gin
Bottled at 42% Portobello Road Gin has enough alcoholic strength to carry and sustain the flavours of the nine botanicals – juniper berries, lemon peel, bitter orange peel, coriander seeds, orris root, angelica root, cassia bark, liquorice and nutmeg.
Gin of the Month
Chilgrove Dry Gin is a rather exciting spirit, as the base comes not from distilled grain but distilled grapes instead, similar to how it was in the olden days when jenever was distilled from wine in Holland. The Chilgrove distillers in Sussex have paired this intriguing base spirit with 11 botanicals, including Angelica Root, Coriander Seed, Grains of Paradise and Wild Water Mint. They describe it as a “gin for all seasons”, and with a superb mouth feel and stunning flavour profile, we wouldn’t mind drinking Chilgrove in Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter!
